Suzanne owns a heating supply company which is looking to explore new markets recognising COP26. In common with many business owners her awareness was around a particular expertise and new markets hiding in plain sight less easy to discern. Her board also suffered with “groupthink” in this respect. A series of board meetings framed around exploring new possibilities were undertaken by Gedanken, facilitated in a way that allowed for creative flow, the exploration of vision whilst acting as “devil’s advocate”. This enabled the board to be challenged outside of comfort zones and step into a new set of possibilities. Gedanken was also able to put Suzanne in touch with companies that could facilitate the ongoing dialogue to further explore the ideas generated and the possible strategic partnerships needed to take them forward. A clarified business model encouraging greater staff involvement in company ownership was developed alongside this.
